The super-sleek, delicious and tension-filled middle weight flavors exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere and lengthy finale where the only nit is a hint of warmth. The 2020 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru has a vivid bouquet with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit, the fruit here entirely de-stemmed. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded, succulent tannins, very sweet in the mouth with a slightly confit finish. Fine. (NM)
