2022 Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis "Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 46"
93
Decanter
Review Date: 10/2023Dense and rich style with a hint of reduction on the nose. More peach fruit than the citrus seen in Brocard's other Chablis. Love the extra weight here, very classy and fine. Aged in wood (petit foudre of 15 hectolitres). Comes from a massale selection planted after the Second World War. (AH)

This is also quite firmly reduced and revealing nothing. There is excellent verve and freshness on the palate however as the caressing yet powerful flavors possess an abundance of dry extract that buffers the moderately firm acid spine shaping the impressively persistent and well-balanced finale. This is very good for its level and worth checking out.*Burghound Top Value!*

Not yet in bottle. A pale lemon yellow. The wood (a medium sized foudre) does make an impression on the nose. A lactic vanilla touch. Behind that there is a considerable depth of fruit and the marine notes try to promote themselves, succeeding perhaps at the finish. But it will take a while for them to overcome the wood effect. Which in any case you may like. Drink from 2025-2029.
