Review Date: 09/2022Lovely fresh and vibrant expression, the floral Mourvèdre coming through well. Only medium-bodied, this is pleasingly restrained. Acidity is good, tannins are fine, and the overall effect is one of neatness, balance and finesse. Not a big wine by any means, but very nicely judged. Grown organically on the sandy soils of Les Bédines, this is fermented in tronconic vats then aged in foudres for 18 months. (MW)

The 2021 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Safres is another Burgundian style wine that lacks density and texture but offers complexity and elegance. Wild strawberries, flowers, and spice give way to a medium-bodied, balanced barrel sample that has light tannins, the fresher style of the vintage, and a clean finish.
