This golden malt derives its delectably sweet signature notes from maturation in Sessile Oak (Quercus Petraea) casks from Scotland's Atlantic coast forests. Despite challenges in cultivation, milling and coopering, Scottish Oak introduces luscious notes of blonde chocolate, with hints of zestful orange and smooth toffee, curating an unparalleled drinking experience. This particular GlenAllachie 8-Year-Old Scottish Virgin Oak expression is a limited release, with just 1,200 bottles have been allocated for the US market. Bottled at 48%, it is matured in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Scottish Virgin Oak, maintaining a non-chill filtered preservation with no added color. Its golden sunset hue carries aromatic scents of baked oats and butterscotch, blending perfectly with cinnamon, heather honey, and gingersnaps. The palate blossoms with rich flavors of heather honey, orchard fruits, and lemon zest, trailing into white chocolate, cinnamon, and ginger hints and finishes with a rewarding burst of toffee and butterscotch.
