2021 Ordaz Family Wines "Vintage Red" Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Ordaz Family Wines is dedicated to single-vineyard production. The Cabernet vines for this bottling are from the dry-farmed Montecillo Vineyard, planted in 1970, just south of Kenwood. The winery notes: "It consistently produces wonderfully dark, almost blueberry like fruit. With cool mornings that lead to hot afternoons, we take extra care to manage the canopy for optimal flavors, while protecting the fruit from too much sun exposure that can wreck havoc during the early stages of berry formation and subsequent ripening."
