Sporting a glass staining purple color (it's reminiscent of a barrel sample), the 2015 Sawbones (a 50/50 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah) gives up notes of charred earth, licorice, charred oak and vibrant black raspberry fruit. Despite the big, masculine nose, it hits the palate with a seamless, silky texture and has incredibly polish to its tannin, all suggesting it's going to evolve gracefully.

Composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Syrah, the 2015 SawBones has a deep garnet-purple color and nose of crushed black currants and black cherries over hints of chocolate box, baking spices, pepper and lavender. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed with perfume, it has ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, offering great expression and length. (LPB)
