2018 Hall Napa Valley Merlot

Composed of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon that aged in 22 months in 40% new French oak. Antonio Galloni writes on Hall Winery's 2018 vintage in Vinous: "I was impressed with the wines I tasted during my most recent tasting at Hall. As always, the wines are flamboyant in style, but I get the sense that Megan Gunderson is trying to give the wines a bit more energy than Steve Leveque did during his tenure as winemaker, while maintaining the opulence Hall fans have come to expect. For now, these are wines Gunderson helped make and blend before she assumed her current role as Vice President of Winemaking." (01/2022)
