Beautifully bright and brilliant with effusive aromatics of strawberry and dusty red cherries, notes of anise and candied cherry. This blend of Dolcetto and Nebbiolo from the permaculture-farmed vineyards high in the Langhe is a study in pure fruit character. Flavours of blue and black berry fruits are accented by rustic and savoury wild thyme. The palate is fresh with ample structure, and dusty tannins deliver a protracted, red fruit finish. (CP)

The 2020 Langhe Rosso Solo Per Amore is another serious wine from Sorì della Sorba, despite its rather silly name. A blend of 60% Dolcetto and 40% Nebbiolo, the Rosso conveys depth, intensity and notable personality. Sumptuous dark red fruit, licorice, pomegranate, red flowers and orange peel fill out the layers. There's terrific depth and just the right amount of grip in the tannins to wrap it all together. Here, too, the 80% stems are not especially perceptible. (AG)
