Bardstown chose a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley for their Origin Series rye release. According to the distiller, the spirit is finished in cherry and American oak casks for half a year. The second barrel is made with both oak and cherry staves, giving the 6 year old rye a spicy sweet character. The producer says "Ripe cherry resonates through toasted oak highlighted by white flower, dill, and cinnamon. A rich, round mouthfeel bursts with fruit flavor leading to a one-of-a-kind sublime finish."
