2018 Vermeil "Jean Louis Vermeil - Frediani Vineyard" Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon

Plenty of darker fruits, chocolate, savory herbs, and obvious minerality, as well as some tobacco, emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Frediani Vineyard. Full-bodied, it has a concentrated, balanced style, building tannins, and outstanding length. It's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age, but the structure and balance are both noteworthy here. It should see its 20th birthday in fine form. (JD)
