Singular aromas of lemon meringue and preserved grapefruit mingle with accents of white flowers and crushed stone. The palate is light on its feet, silky, super fresh and energetic, with an effortless finish that offers lingering preserved lemon, salty tang and textural grip. (EB)

The 2018 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is a powerful, tightly wound wine, which is surprising for a year in which most wines are pretty open. Crushed rocks, mint, lemon confit and white pepper all open in the glass. The 2018 is translucent and yet it also packs a pretty huge punch of both fruit and structure. (AG)

Antonio Galloni for Vinous on the 2018 vintage: "This is a terrific set of new releases from Arista and brothers Mark and Ben McWilliams. Winemaker Matt Courtney nailed the vintage. The wines feel dialed in and super-expressive in 2018, with a ton of site character coming through. I was especially taken with the Pinots, as they show more refinement and less heaviness than in the past. This is a fabulous vintage for Arista." (07/2021)
