2020 Domaine Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin
93
Decanter
Review Date: 11/2021Dark in colour, but there is no over-extraction. The fruit is elegantly perfumed and floral, the texture is fresh and lively. Well done. This is the biggest cuvée, coming from 3ha (out of 8.5ha farmed by the domaine) spread over ten parcels. The grapes are completely destemmed and fermented without sulphur after two or three days maceration. The wine is aged in 10% new casks. (CC)

Notes
90-93 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Rich purple colour, with a little more power and stuffing to the nose. Altogether more opulent more raspberry and cherry than strawberry, a juicier and less savoury style. The grapes come from all over the appellation with half from Brochon. More structured and greater persistence. 21 barrels made." (11/2021)
