The traditionally produced Amatiteña brand is not from one of the facilities you'd usually associate with old-school tequila production. The distillery outside of El Arenal is home to many large brands, but they also have an old tahona wheel. Here they've taken a single field source of agave, allowed for traditional roasting in brick ovens, pressed on the tahona wheel and fermented with wild yeast. Distilled in the facility's small copper pots and surprise surprise, the result is exceptional tequila! It's not a complicated formula, but we're more than happy to have another delicious traditional, additive-free blanco tequila on the shelf.
