Reviewed February 2022There are bright cherry aromas lifting this 91% Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, a mix of estate and purchased fruit. The attack is fresh, lively and spicy, with considerable zest and pungency. It doesn't sag on the mid-palate like so many Napa reds, and it's vivacious rather than complex. Quite long too. (SB)

A good value, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon S checks in as 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot sourced from St. Helena, Rutherford, and Howell Mountain. Medium to full-bodied and opulent, yet with a good sense of freshness, it has rock-solid dark fruits as well as some scorched earth and charcoal-like notes. It will gain a touch more complexity with 2-3 years in the cellar and keep for 8-10 years. (JD)
