Very forward, rich, toasty oak notes frame massive fruit aromas infused with hints of the exotic, especially pineapple, banana and apricot and lead to equally big, soft and perfumed flavors that are remarkably concentrated for the vintage. There is excellent length and while the quality is particular in the sense that it is hardly classic in style, there is so much sappy, mouth coating extract plus outstanding complexity that this wine works and clearly transcends the vintage. This is sufficiently forward that it will be approachable early yet should hold reasonably well.
