2001 Philip Togni "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

Review Date: 06/2018The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is deep garnet-purple colored with a gorgeous, meat and yeast extract-laced nose with notions of ceps and truffles over a core of crème de cassis, blackberry compote and star anise plus hints of camphor and potpourri. Medium-bodied, fine, fresh and delicately played with loads of spice and savory layers, it finishes on a compelling perfumed note. (LPB)

Notes
96 points, Antonio Galloni in Vinous: "Togni's 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon explodes onto the palate with layers of dark fruit, roasted coffee beans, autumn leaves and spices. This is an immensely satisfying wine graced with striking inner sweetness and a vibrancy that will drink well for another 15+ years. The density of the fruit at ten years of age is remarkable. The 2001 is a re-release from the estate's library." (12/2011)
