Yields were back up from a single barrel in 2016 to eight in 2017, which is brilliant news for anyone who loves great Chambolle-Musigny. This pure, stylish, effortlessly elegant premier cru bottling is as good as some people's grands crus: it's fine and nuanced, with subtle layers of intertwined fruit, oak and chalky minerality. Drinking Window 2023 - 2029. (TA)

The 2017 Feusselottes chez Tremblay is a stunning wine in the making. Cécile retained fifty percent whole clusters this year for this bottling and the wine was absolutely singing in mid-November, soaring from the glass in a beautiful and quite red fruity nose of strawberries, raspberries, red plums, a nice sweet touch of the stems, complex soil tones, woodsmoke, raw cocoa and smoky new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully sappy at the core, with fine mineral drive, excellent focus and grip, suave tannins and a very long, very pure and dancing finish. Great juice. (Drink between 2027-2065)

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes is developing nicely, wafting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of cherries, raspberries, orange rind, sweet spices and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, it's elegantly fleshy and gourmand, with melting tannins, succulent acids and a gently oak-inflected finish. This is already drinking with style, though it will continue reward a little more patience. (WK)

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru, which includes 30% whole bunches, has a perfumed, enticing bouquet of copious red cherries, crushed strawberry and floral, rose petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is a juicy, very pure Chambolle-Musigny with a fine bead of acidity and a touch of salinity brightening up the finish. A delightful wine in the making. (NM)

Notes

91-93pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Medium depth of colour, very aromatic nose, quite savoury even, then a very good concentration of fruit right through the middle, with lovely energy behind, which goes right to the back. Sombre raspberry style. Tasted: November 2018."
