2019 Joseph Drouhin Saint-Veran
91
John Gilman
Review Date: 04/2021The 2019 vintage of Saint-Véran from Maison Joseph Drouhin is an impressively mineral interpretation of this ripe vintage, offering up a refined and very classy nose of apple, pear, chalky minerality, spring flowers and just a hint of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely light on its feet, with a good core, fine soil inflection, very good framing acids and a long, complex finish. This is very good this year. (Drink between 2021-2026)

A stalwart of the Drouhin portfolio, the 2019 Saint-Véran exhibits aromas of buttered orchard fruit, white flowers and peach. Medium to full-bodied, round and fleshy, with ripe acids and a sun-kissed core of fruit, it concludes with a slightly heady finish that reflects the extremes of the vintage. It's bottled under screwcap. (WK)

Round and fleshy, this juicy white offers a touch of honey framing peach and lemon cake flavors, winding down with lemon and spice accents. Drink now.
