OAX Original (pronounced O - A - X) is a collaboration between mezcaleros and artists in Mexico to showcase some incredible distillates and design. The Tepeztate is made by Mezcalero Enrique Hernandez Zenea in Teotitlan De Valle, Oaxaca. Harvested around 25 years of age in the village of San Luis Del Rio, the ripe Tepeztate is cooked in earthen ovens and milled with a horse drawn tahona before being double distilled on copper at Enrique's palenque in Teotitlan De Valle. Presented in a stunning pink ceramic bottle that is in itself a work of art, the Tepeztate is bright and lively offering a combination of savory herbal flavors and zippy citrus.
