A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline Estate reveals an opaque purple-black color, exploding from the glass with bombastic scents of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and chocolate-covered cherries, plus hints of Indian spices, menthol and licorice, with a touch of sandalwood. A focused and fluid red with currants, black cherries and chocolate as well as some hazelnut. Medium to full body. Finishes off nicely with brightness and richness, yet it is also sort of weightless. Lots going on.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Blueline is the most elegant and nuanced of the three Cabernets in the range. Blueberry jam, crème de cassis, lavender, licorice and spice open first, framed by silky tannins that give the 2019 a feeling of finesse that is impossible to miss. (AG)
