Fallet-Dart "Heres" Brut Champagne
90
Wine Enthusiast
Review Date: 12/2024Bottled in 2019, this Champagne was partially vinified in oak. It is just at the point when the white and citrus fruits begin to soften. Smooth with pear and apple flavors that have begun to round out. (RV)

Staff Reviews

The Fallet family has been growing grapes in Drachy since at least 1611, and this long history has given them the luxury of incredible patience. This bottle has been aged for a full seven years on the lees, longer than most of the vintage releases we sell, and has the pin point bubbles, fine brioche and silky texture that only long cellaring on the lees can deliver. The style of the wine is refined, but also quite precise and dry. For the price, this wine is unbeatable. If you like fine toast, tight streamers, and great refreshment, this is one to case up on!

Email JacksonBottled in 2019, but with a base vintage of 2018, Fallet Dart's "Heres" is an awesome champagne, especially for its price. The Fallet Dart family has been growing grapes in Champagne since the 1600s and you can taste the years of experience in this wine. On the palate, this champagne is light with perfect minerality, offering notes of tart green apple, grapefruit, lemon juice, and plum.

Email MatthewFrom a family farming the far western edge of Champagne, now in its 13th generation. A 2018 base of roughly 70% pinot meunier and 15% chardonnay gives this an inviting, easygoing nose and palate. Ripe orchard fruit, fresh-baked bread, and a touch of spice make it immediately likable. Honest, generous, easy-drinking Champagne with real heritage behind it.
