The grapes for Elvio Cogno's "Bricco dei Merli" Barbera d'Alba are grown on 1.8 hectares at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare, 300 meters above sea level. The wine is then aged for twelve months large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by six months of bottle aging. The winery describes this wine as "true to Cogno tradition" with a focus on "drinkability and freshness... capable of showing the terroir of the Langhe."
