The grapes for Elvio Cogno's "Bricco dei Merli" Barbera d'Alba are grown on 1.8 hectares at a density of 4,500 vines per hectare, 300 meters above sea level. The wine is then aged for twelve months large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by six months of bottle aging.
