Built in a formal temple in Kainan City, Heiwa was renamed after WWII and means, "Peace" or "Harmony". The brewery has been there for 4 generations, but their KID line has only been available for the last 10 years, created and driven by the breweries young energetic staff. Named IWC Sake brewery of the year, Heiwa is on the vanguard of the modern craft sake brewing movement. Their Junmai is wonderfully balanced offering great acidity and subtle umami flavors.
