Burghound
Reviewed January 2018A timid but delicately spiced nose reflects notes of soft oak, fresh red berry fruit, dark cherry and plum. The velvety medium weight flavors possess good mid-palate concentration while being shaped by fine-grained tannins on the saline and mineral-inflected finish that delivers excellent depth and persistence. This is a first-rate Vosne villages that could be enjoyed young if desired.

Lovely fresh purple and a very high-class nose. Lovely tension to this, middleweight, more red fruit than flowers but some of each. Fineboned, medium persistence. Bruno has learnt to harvest this vineyard later because the acidity does not drop.

Decanter
An overperforming village wine, the Champs Perdrix is reminiscent of a miniature premier cru Petits Monts, offering up an attractive bouquet of rose petal, wild berries and spice. On the palate the wine is juicy, fine-grained and medium-bodied, with detailed, chalky tannins. (WK)

Vinous
Good medium red. Inviting scents of raspberry, chocolate and mocha. Suppler and sweeter than the last couple of village wines and a step up in flesh and texture. A touch reduced but still nicely perfumed. Like a few other of these '16s, this wine appears to have been softened by the racking in November and should give early pleasure. Tannins are dusty and fine-grained. (ST)
