Review Date: 03/2019Densely packed, with fig paste and blackberry compote flavors forming a core shrouded in bramble, cocoa powder and smoldering tobacco accents for now. Everything melds wonderfully through the finish, imparting a polished feel and leaving a strong graphite echo lingering at the end. Best from 2022 through 2040. (JM)

Offering more toasty oak, vanilla, and spice, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Croquet Vineyard is a total charmer and is medium to full-bodied, frontend loaded, ripe and undeniably sexy. This wine comes from a slightly higher elevation site (1,785 feet above sea level) and spent 22 months in 80% new French oak. Like the Cold Springs Vineyard release, it’s going to keep for 15+ years.

A big and extracted style with lots of tannins and power. Full and rich. Loads of fruit and intensity. A little overdone. Needs two or three years to soften. Try in 2020.
