In the low-yielding 2015 vintage, grapes sourced from St. Helena, Oakville, and Rutherford were aged in a combination of oak, puncheon and concrete. Alluring dark fruit and earth notes, sweet capsicum and cedarwood all lead to an intensely earthy wine with marked black fruit notes; black olives are impressively built with powerful tannins that seem to develop on the fruit and mineral-driven finish. The best of the best fruit in any given vintage is blended by the Alehandro Bulgheroni winemaking trifecta of talent: Philippe Melka, Michel Rolland, and Matt Sands, and this is the flagship wine of the namesake and Lithology estates.
