Cascahuín is a special distillery that is commited to the traditional production of Tequila and specifically highlights valley grown agave. In their aged expressions they are known for their deft use of wood to highlight and refine the Tequila, not impart an abundance of oak. The anejo features barrels of American oak that have been in use for Tequila production for over 20 years. It is aged for 14-16 months in these barrels and the end result is an Anejo that is still fruity and bright with a gentle golden hue. Stone fruits, nuts, and sweet raisins come to mind and of course are undergirded by the robust flavors of the agave itself. A silky texture and long finish make this one of the best sipping Tequilas around for someone who prizes the agave flavors above wood influence. Bottled at 88 proof.
