2018 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru

Burghound
Review Date: 04/2020A pretty and relatively airy nose offers up notes of spicy anise-suffused tea, plum, dark cherry and a hint of raspberry. Like a number of wines in the range, the texture of the larger-scaled flavors is beguiling before culminating in a muscular and powerful if slightly raspy but not drying finish. This too is going to need extended cellaring as it's presently quite tightly wound.

Notes
93-96pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Lovely clear even purple colour. There is a sensual class to the nose, suggesting fruit picked at optimum ripeness. On the palate there is a sense of delicacy that does not lose the intensity of the fruit which is in a deep but fresh raspberry register. The tannins have disappeared below the surface but the wine has the requisite structure to last very well. Very fine indeed. Tasted: December 2019."
