Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Black Label has a deep purple-black color with pronounced cassis, plums and blueberries with touches of spice box, aniseed, earth and tapenade. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy with good concentration, finishing long and earthy. (LPB)

A real sleeper for me, this was not a property that I knew much about, but wow, the wine did the talking and I backed up the truck to take everything we could get. This is quintessential, big, bold, powerful Napa Cabernet. Thanks to a winery direct purchase we can offer if for a price that you just don't see much anymore. Dense, brooding, black and purple fruit, plum, blackcurrant, huckleberry, graphite, cedar. Big, mouth coating texture, fine but noble tannin giving good grip and presence on the palate. Some dark earthy tones and charred oak round out the finish. Big stuff but not jammy, sweet, or over-done. At this price, with these scores this is a unicorn wine - 95 point Napa Valley Cabernet for under $30!? What!?
