The famous Jack Daniels distillery was never a rye producing plant, but over the last several years a push toward innovation has created some oppurtunities to explore new horizons. This yearly limited release expression of rye is drawn from a single barrel and bottled at full barrel proof without the addition of water before bottling. Proofs will range from 125-140 proof depending on the bottling. It's made from a mashbill of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley. After many years in those hot Lynchburg summers, the intense flavors of the rye mash mellowed by charcoal filtration meld perfectly the sweet rich new American oak. Each barrel is slightly different, but they never disappoint.
