Notes
Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is one of Burgundy’s modern reference points for Chardonnay. Founded by Pierre-Yves Colin, eldest son of Marc Colin, and his wife Caroline Morey, daughter of Jean-Marc Morey, the domaine grew from a small négociant project launched in 2001 into an estate centered in Chassagne-Montrachet after Pierre-Yves left the family domaine following the 2005 harvest. Today, the range spans many of the Côte de Beaune’s most prized sites, including Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, and several Grand Crus. In the cellar, Pierre-Yves became known for a meticulous approach developed in response to Burgundy’s premature oxidation issues. He favors whole-cluster pressing, native fermentations, large-format barrels, extended élevage, and little intervention, with no bâtonnage and minimal handling. The resulting wines helped define a generation of white Burgundy focused on precision, energy, and site expression rather than overt oak influence.
