2017 Timeless (Silver Oak) Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

From the Duncan family of Silver Oak fame comes Timeless, a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant proprietary blend crafted by winemaker Nate Weis using grapes from the Duncan family's Soda Canyon Ranch Vineyard. The estate spans 45.7 hectares in the benchlands of the Vaca Mountains, just north of Napa. The 2017 vintage marks the inaugural release of Timeless. Aromas of dusty redcurrant, charcuterie, and bay laurel. Medium-bodied, with vibrant red fruit on the palate, a deep, almost volcanic-like mineral core, and powdery tannins. The blend includes 5.5% Petit Verdot and 1.5% Malbec. (JC)
