Until the last 10 years or so, Domaine Tortochot was one of the most underrated finds in the Côte d'Or, which is a shame because Gabriel Tortochot was a supremely talented winemaker. The skills he passed on to his children are evident in the domaine's wines today, but it's a true treat indeed to be able to experience his hand directly in a well-aged bottle of Tortochot Gevrey. While the Corvées doesn't display the sheer power of the other Gevrey crus in the stable, it is still a classic representation of the appellation and the man who made it.
