The Roulots' 0.26ha parcel is entirely located in Perrières Dessous, so is better positioned than their Charmes. This is a correspondingly superb wine, right up there with some of the best white wines of the vintage. This aristocratic wine is everything you want from a Meursault premier cru: finesse, weight, balance, minerality and incredible palate length. (TA)

Revisited from bottle, the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières confirms its status as one of the wines of the vintage, unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, white flowers, crushed chalk and fresh pastry that only hint of the complexity to come. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, with an exquisitely satiny attack, a deep and multidimensional core and considerable concentration underpinned by incisive acids. Concluding with a long, penetrating and searingly chalky finish, this Perrières is a brilliant achievement. (WK)

A restrained and distinctly cool nose is composed by notes of mineral reduction, pear, citrus peel and acacia blossom that are trimmed in just enough matchstick character to notice. The beautifully delineated middle weight flavors possess an almost aggressive minerality while displaying stunningly good length on the focused, balanced, bone dry and hugely long finish. This is class in a glass and potentially brilliant. *Don't miss! Outstanding*

The 2017 Perrières chez Roulot is outstanding. Without any frost damage here in 2016, the potential yields here were quite correct in 2017 and the wine is every bit a classic in the making. The first class bouquet delivers scents of apple, tangerine, pear, almond, a complex base of minerality, vanillin oak and a very pretty topnote of orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a fine sense of reserve at the core, excellent acidity for the vintage, very good grip and a long, vibrant and energetic finish. Fine, fine juice.
