2016 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Silver Oak was founded to focus on Cabernet Sauvignon in 1972 by entrepreneur Raymond Twomey Duncan and winemaker Justin Meyer, and makes two key wines based on their respective AVAs. The 2016 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with a combined 5% of the other Bordeaux varietals and was aged in American oak (50% new) from Silver Oak's own cooperage. A classic nose of cassis and bramble fruits along with vanilla, sage, and mint reverberate on the palate with a pop of red berry fruit. Graphite mineral and dusty tannins grace a medium-plus finish that promises the wine will hold for many years, but it certainly begs to be sipped now.
