Review Date: 06/2018Here there are no such reductive notes with its pure and elegant nose that offers up notes of essence of spiced pear, citrus and acacia blossom scents. Beautifully delineated, intense and vibrant middle weight flavors possess a notably finer mouth feel while exhibiting excellent persistence on the dry and youthfully austere finale. This will also require at least moderate patience. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*

The 2016 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with orange pith, lemon zest and light apricot aromas, floral and quite generous in style. The palate is fresh on the entry with a keen line of acidity, well balanced and nicely weighted, becoming waxier in texture towards the finish with fine length. Very fine. (NM)

Fresh and ferny-scented. Mid weight and good balance and appetizing appeal. Not sure it’s a true Charmes but it’s certainly a dense Meursault. Lots to chew on and nothing wrong with this. A good mouthful. Cool and dense and dry. Appetizing and with a very serious undertow. Utterly correct and with layers. Good stuff. (JR) 17/20 points
