2007 Kenzo Estate "Ai" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Proprietor Kenzo Tsujimoto has enlisted the incomparable talents of viticulturalist David Abreu and winemaker Heidi Barrett to grow his vines and make his 100% estate-grown wines. This 3,800-acre property is a first and foremost a stunning nature preserve and retreat, with only 4% of the acreage planted to vine. According to the winery, "ai represents the color indigo in the Japanese language, an element used in textile dyeing for thousands of years. Indigo is a rare commodity, just as the wine that bears its name, and with aging, both evolve and soften in texture and expression. Selected from the most superb blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon and enhanced by additional Bordeaux components, ai is the boldest expression of the estate’s vineyard potential."
