Moderately saturated cherry-red. Warm but fresh nose melds roasted cherry, raspberry, tobacco, smoke and underbrush; a bit like maturing pinot noir. Juicy red fruit flavors show a lively tangy quality and harmonious acidity. Not especially fleshy in the context of the vintage. Finishes with rather light tannins and a persistent flavor of slightly medicinal cherry. (ST)
