This is wonderfully balanced and refined with plum and currant character. Medium to full body. Juicy and delicious currants, berries and cherries on the finish. Succulent. Shows reserve.

Wine of this quality, at this price is increasingly rare in Napa Valley, especially from a truly great vintage like 2016. Buena Vista is one of the most historic properties in all of California. Founded in 1857 the original winery is now a registered historic landmark. The modern era of the winery has been crafted by Jean-Charles Boisset who has restored the Buena Vista name to its former glory. The Chateau Buena Vista range focuses on classically styled wines that pay homage to the estates significant roll in establishing Napa Valley as a premium wine producing region. The bottle is packed with dusty red fruits, ripe plum, redcurrant, dried herbs and subtle spicy oak. The palate is full bodied with ample structure and tannic frame. Beautifully balanced, layered and persistent on the palate. A timeless style that is faithful to this property's long legacy. Nothing short of spectacular for this price point.
Buena Vista was established in 1857 and is considered by many to be the first premium winery in California. It's no surprise Boisset saw this incredible legacy and took Buena Vista under their legacy group. Driven by velvety, slightly sweet fruit, this feels like a classic and new California take on Cabernet simultaneously. With a hint of tannin for structure on the finish, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser at under $30. This is a hard price point to find from such a historic winery.

This is super attractive, well balanced Cabernet Sauvignon: it has textbook flavor profile, full of bright red fruit, juicy red cassis and hint of spice from barrel aging. With just 20% of new oak used wine shines with brightness and Cabernet fruit is lovely and supple and not hiding behind tannins. I think this Cab is truly delightful and easy to drink, yet over-delivers for the price and suitable for any occasion: from casual BBQ to sit down steak dinner.
