Reina Sanchez is known for her quick wit and biting humor, as much as she's known for her powerfully complex mezcals. Not only does the fact that she is one of just a few women who own and operate a palenque in the region set her apart from her many compatriots but the quality of the spirits she produces does as well. Here she's taking Tequila back to its roots, using Blue Weber grown locally and processing it just as she would any of her other mezcals. This far-flung part of Miahuatlan is now becoming one of the most valued destinations for good mezcal in Oaxaca. Expect ultra ripe tropical fruit, wild citrus fruit and complex floral aromas. Extremely elegant and complex with a lipsmacking acidity that begs for food. A delicious expression proving once again the Reina is really the queen of Miahuatlan.
