2017 Domaine Jacques Carillon Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Champs Canet"

John Gilman
Review Date: 12/2018The 2017 Champs Canet chez Carillon is outstanding on both the nose and palate. The pure and youthfully complex nose delivers a refined blend of apple, pear, tangerine, citrus zest, chalky soil tones, vanillin oak and a lovely floral topnote of white flowers. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very precise on the attack, with a fine core, excellent focus and bounce, zesty acids and a very long, soil-driven and classic finish. This is really lovely and will be a very elegant example of Champs Canet when it is fully mature. 2022-2060.

Notes
92 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Palish yellow with green tints. The most floral, the most accessible of the three Carillon 1ers crus, this is medium bodied, very pretty, a little bit saline, and more notable for persistence than for hyper concentration. Tasted: October 2018."
