The 2017 Casa Nuestra is a field blend of Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, Carignane, Gamay, Negrette, Mourvèdre, Refosco and Chenin Blanc. Very deep purple-black in the glass, it has a savory nose of smoke and cinnamon toast with black cherry liqueur, dried violets, smoked meats and pink peppercorn/exotic spices suggestions. The palate is full-bodied with very dense black fruits at the core, plus notions of blue fruits and flowers. It's framed by very firm, slightly grippy tannins and just enough acidity to carry the long, savory finish. (EB) 93+
