The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard reveals a quasi-La Mission Haut-Brion, smoky, hot rock, gravelly component as well as medium to full body, plenty of blueberry and black currant fruit, and a juicy mid-palate. While it does not have as much complexity as some offerings from this vineyard, there is enough here to merit an outstanding score. Moreover, I think it will last for a decade or more. (RP)

Deep red-ruby. Aromas of smoky cassis and blackberry, licorice and gravel, lifted by a violet nuance. Sweet, silky and easygoing; in fact, almost surprisingly open-knit for a 2010. Plush, slightly roasted dark fruit and intriguing earth flavors. Finishes ripe and broad, with a fine dusting of tannins and lingering sweetness. (ST)
