I think we have found a new favorite, not only in the 10-year tawny category, but possibly in our entire fortified sweet wine collection. This delicious 10-year-old tawny from the house of Ferreira is a perfectly balanced rendition of the style. Aromas of sweet chai spices, confit of dark fruits, and hints of orange peel lead to a sumptuous palate, where the nutty, aged flavors engage with the fresh, fruity bright tones to create one beautiful port. This is a spectacular value and not to be missed. Ferreira's ports are some of the most impressive that we have tasted this season. Named by Wine & Spirits Magazine as one of the top producers of 2012, this historic house, which also produces the world-renowned, age-worthy, and pricey "Barca Velha" reds, is one of the great ambassadors of port and Portuguese wines.
