A classic London Dry profile, this zingy, brisk gin opens with plenty of juniper, leading into a spiced midpalate that leans on anise and coriander seed and finishes long, with an assertive grapefruit peel note. Mix into Gin & Tonics. (KN)

This is a wonderful tradition gin. It has everything that a gin needs to be tasty and enjoyable. It has an elegant and integrated nose with juniper aromas with a hint of spice. In the mouth it is soft and round . This will be great to drink alone and will go well in cocktails. At a recent staff tasting it was very popular with the staff.

There is a lot of hand labor that goes into producing this gin and the taste certainly reflects those efforts. They peel hundreds of limes and grapefruits every week to get that fresh citrus note in there and all other botanicals are hand-selected for purity of expression. This gin is creamy and lively, showcasing floral and citrus notes, with just a touch of spice. Don't be alarmed if your gin turns cloudy after adding tonic or ice - that's just the incredible amount of botanical oils left in for phenomenal flavor.

Notes

*95 points, Ultimate Spirits Challenge Top 100 of 2020* The Cotswolds distillery has been making a splash in the whisky and gin world over the last few years. They are relentlessly focused on locally sourcing their ingredients for both the gins and whiskies. The gin is made from a wheat base spirit and utilizes 9 carefully selected botanicals. Over 22 pounds of botanicals are used in each batch distillation (about 10x the typical botanical load of a premium London dry gin). The result is a phenomenally rich and aromatic spirit. The botanicals include fresh pink grapefruits and limes hand zested at the distillery, and local Cotswold lavender along with the more usual dry gin suspects. The gin is produced in a "single-shot" pot distillation, meaning they do not make a concentrated gin which is stretched with neutral spirit. What comes of the still in the botanical run is what goes into the bottle. This extra effort has resulted in numerous awards including "World's Best London Dry Gin" at the 2016 World Gin Awards and Gold medals at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 SF World Spirits Competition. Try a G&T with a slice of grapefruit and be blown away.
