This is about as artisinal as tequila gets. From the Tequila Trés Mujéres distillery in Amatitán, the Dos Artes line is a small-batch, expertly crafted run of tequilas packaged in some of the most beautiful, hand-painted ceramic bottles. Each bottle alone takes several hours to produce. The Reserva Especial Extra Añejo is the top-tier offering, and while very little information is available as to the production process (the company does not have a working official website), the results in the copita are stunning. From the nose on through the palate, pure agave is the theme. Expertly integrated oak treatment is evident throughout, with a decidedly honeyed note to it. There is not a thing out of place with this tequila. No burn on the nose, and only the most proper warming sensation on the very long, slightly sweet finish.
