Good dark red. Plum, redcurrant, mocha and tobacco on the nose, plus hints of dusty herbs and pepper. Sweet and smooth, with harmonious acidity giving shape to the round mid-palate. Finishes with solid tannins and firm flavors of currant and licorice. (ST)

The continuing improvement at classed growth Camensac under the ownership of the Merlaut family (Chasse-Spleen, Citran, etc) is apparent even in the lesser vintage of 2007. The structure hangs well with the stalky but solid black berry fruit, the acidity a pure streak through it. (RV)

Nicely polished, featuring dark plum and currant flavors laced with cocoa powder and roasted vanilla bean notes, which extend through the finish. (JM)
