An enticingly floral nose of fresh violets, lavender and black cherry. The tense, upright structure typical of Dalla Valle is here in spades, albeit with a more forward texture due to the accessibility of the 2014 vintage. Flavours of fire-roasted fruits, iron and dried flowers lead to a bright, grainy and ornate finish. As with all recent vintages of this wine, it will reward considerable time in the cellar. (ML)
