1985 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

The 1985 Bonneau du Martray is fully into its apogee, and is drinking splendidly. The bouquet is deep, complex and classic, as it offers up a mélange of lemon zest, fresh peaches, corn meal, a bit of iodine, spring flowers, wet stones, and a delicate framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and brilliantly focused, with excellent mid-palate depth, fine balance, and a outstanding length and grip on the complex and à point finish. The 1985 vintage of Bonneau du Martray has aged beautifully, and while at its peak today, will surely continue drinking very well for at least the next ten to twelve years. Fine juice.
