2015 Bois-Malot, Bordeaux Supérieur

Review Date: 05/2023

Bois-Malot is a favorite here at K&L. The 2015 Bois-Malot is delicate and has a wonderful nose of fresh raspberries and red flowers with raspberry, dark chocolate, espresso, and earthy notes on the palate. This is a fantastic weekend Bordeaux that many will really enjoy, especially for the price!

This super inexpensive Bordeaux holds mass appeal. A nose of cherry, boysenberry, chocolate and chalk. Round and rich with plush red fruits offset by spices and light oak. Nicely chalky on the finish. A perfect pick for parties and daily enjoyment.

The Meynard family has produced one of the best known little secrets in our Bordeaux portfolio. Bois Malot is 50% Cab, 40% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot and the 2015 vintage has loaded this bottle with rich raspberry, cherry, baking spice and cocoa, a plush velvety texture and an overall quality-to-price-ratio that is one of the best in our store.

Like all vintages of Bois Malot this wine tastes and smells of Raspberries and earth but with a gentle middle and a soft finish due to the extraordinary vintage. This is round, seductive and filled with easy drinking character. Perfect for picnics, BBQ's, simple meals or just by the glass.

Notes

Château Bois-Malot is located in St-Loubes and situated on the shoreline of the Dordogne River. The soils are clay and light limestone with a subsoil of red pebbles and clay. The wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and is aged for 18 months in tanks, followed by six months in barrels. If you like framboise you will adore this wine — 2015 was a huge success for this property. As in most years, this wine tastes and smells of raspberries and earth, but with a gentle middle and a soft finish due to the extraordinary vintage. Round, seductive, and filled with easy-drinking character. Great party wine, and a super value.
